Melissa Sorohan is a dynamic performer and vocal instructor whose artistry bridges continents and disciplines. A native of the United States now based in Hong Kong, Melissa brings a wealth of experience to the stage and studio, blending classical training with theatrical flair and a passion for education.

Melissa holds both a Bachelor and Master of Music in Voice, earned from the Cleveland Institute of Music and The University of Akron respectively. Her academic journey led her to a teaching career that began in suburban Ohio and flourished at Malone University, where she served as Adjunct Instructor of Voice from 2012 to 2017. In 2017, she relocated to Hong Kong to join M.Int Academy as a voice teacher, and has since evolved into a sought-after freelance singer, actor, and educator.

Her theatrical footprint in Hong Kong is vibrant and varied. Melissa performs with Dove Tales Theatre and Dragonesque Theatre, and is currently exploring the art of puppetry with Treasure Chest Theatre. She’s a regular cast member in Harbour Secrets’ immersive murder mystery events and teaches English through music and drama with World Family Club—bringing storytelling and song to life for young learners.

Melissa’s vocal talents have taken her across the globe, with performances in the United States, Italy, and throughout Hong Kong. Her operatic repertoire includes cherished roles such as the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Baba in The Medium, La Zia Principessa in Suor Angelica, and the First Lady in Die Zauberflöte. She also sings regularly with the chorus of Opera Hong Kong, contributing to the city’s rich cultural tapestry.
